After the unpredictable Rwandan rain crashed our plans for performing the StArfrica expert talk at the rooftop of the Westerwelle Startup Haus Kigali, we had to relocate it into the main rooms of the Westerwelle Haus. The stress was worth it – it was an amazing StArfrica expert event at the Westerwelle Startup Haus together with around 40 guests.<\/span><\/p>\n

We had the great honor that his excellency the German ambassador to Rwanda, Dr. Thomas Kurz, made a welcome speech to our guests and the team. He highlighted the importance of the economic bridge especially together with young talented people and the upcoming activities between Rwanda and Germany.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally the leader of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Rwanda, Dr. Emile Bienvenu, \u00a0and the leader of the Central Institute for Scientific Entrepreneurship and International Transfer at the University of Koblenz-Landau, Prof. Dr. Harald von Korflesch, introduced the project to the community. As project principals and counterparts of the StArfrica project they retold the story of StArfrica and how it was born a year ago in a narrow collaboration. A wide range of partners in the political community, the scientific community and the startup community were underlined as important parts for a successful progress of the project. Many of them have been on the guest list at our event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sangwa Rwabuhihi performed as a role model and expert in both of countries. After studying at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern in Germany he worked there for several years before moving back to Rwanda where he is now the leader of the Westerwelle Startup Haus.<\/span><\/p>\n

We would like to thank everybody for organizing and participating in our StArfrica expert talk event and we are looking forward to our activites!<\/span><\/p>\n

Nachdem der unvorhersehbare ruandische Regen unsere Pl\u00e4ne f\u00fcr die Durchf\u00fchrung des StArfrica-Expertengespr\u00e4chs auf dem Dach des Westerwelle Startup Hauses Kigali durchkreuzte, mussten wir es in die Hauptr\u00e4ume des Westerwelle Hauses verlegen. Der Stress hat sich gelohnt – es war ein tolles StArfrica-Expertengespr\u00e4ch im Westerwelle Startup Haus mit rund 40 G\u00e4sten.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wir hatten die gro\u00dfe Ehre, dass seine Exzellenz der deutsche Botschafter in Ruanda, Dr. Thomas Kurz, ein Gru\u00dfwort an unsere G\u00e4ste und das Team richtete. Er betonte die Wichtigkeit der wirtschaftlichen Br\u00fccke, insbesondere mit jungen talentierten Menschen, und die anstehenden Aktivit\u00e4ten zwischen Ruanda und Deutschland.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Zus\u00e4tzlich stellten der Leiter des Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation und stellvertretende Rektor der Universit\u00e4t Ruanda, Dr. Emile Bienvenu, und der Leiter des Zentralen Instituts f\u00fcr Scientific Entrepreneurship und International Transfer an der Universit\u00e4t Koblenz-Landau, Prof. Dr. Harald von Korflesch, das Projekt vor. Als Projektleiter und Ansprechpartner des StArfrica-Projekts erz\u00e4hlten sie die Geschichte von StArfrica und wie es vor einem Jahr in enger Zusammenarbeit ausgearbeitet wurde. Eine breite Auswahl von Partnern aus der Politik, der Wissenschaft und der Startup-Community wurden als wichtige Bestandteile f\u00fcr einen erfolgreichen Verlauf des Projekts hervorgehoben. Viele von ihnen waren G\u00e4ste unserer Veranstaltung.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sangwa Rwabuhihi trat als Vorbild und Experte auf, da er beide L\u00e4nder durch langj\u00e4hrige Erfahrung kennt. Nach seinem Studium an der Technischen Universit\u00e4t Kaiserslautern in Deutschland arbeitete er dort mehrere Jahre, bevor er zur\u00fcck nach Ruanda zog, wo er nun das Westerwelle Startup Haus leitet.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wir m\u00f6chten uns bei allen f\u00fcr die Organisation und Teilnahme an unserem StArfrica-Expertentalk-Event bedanken und freuen uns auf die gemeinsamen Aktivit\u00e4ten!<\/span><\/p>\n
