Meetkumar Pravinbhai Mangroliya receives Best Paper Award

Meetkumar Pravinbhai Mangroliya presented a paper at the IEEE FedCSIS in Belgrade this year, which he wrote together with the supervisors of his Master’s thesis, PD Dr. Robert Rockenfeller (FB3) and Dr. Jens Dörpinghaus (BIBB, Bonn and FB4). For this paper “Towards the analysis of errors in centrality measures in perpetuated networks” he received the Best Paper Award of the Technical Track “Computational Optimization”.

The paper examines errors in centrality measures in graphs and networks and their effects on network resilience. It analyzes how different node removal strategies (e.g. random or based on certain centrality measures) influence the structure and connectivity of networks. The results show that especially highly connected nodes play a key role in maintaining network resilience. Participation in the conference was funded with 550€ from the University of Koblenz’s research funding pot.

Prof. Dr. Antonio Mucherino, Meetkumar Pravinbhai Mangroliya and Prof. Dr. Stefka Fidanova.
