Diesen Eindruck haben zumindest nicht die Teilnehmenden auf einer architekturpsychologischen Exkursion zu den Isala Kliniken in Zwolle in den Niederlanden unter Leitung der habilitierten Dozentin Rotraut Walden von der Universität in Koblenz. Schon der erste Eindruck beim Anblick der Kliniken ist ungewöhnlich. Architekt Max van Huut und seine Frau Patricia Sterke (Alberts & Van Huut International Architects B.V.) nehmen sich 4 Stunden Zeit für einen Rundgang – Ein niederländischer Friedensreich Hundertwasser? – Sind die Isala Kliniken ein „Krankenhaus der Zukunft“?

A report on an architectural psychological excursion to Isala Clinics in the Netherlands. With Max van Huut and Rotraut Walden.
At least this is not the impression of the nine students and Prof. Dr. Margareta Gruber, Sandra Pantenburg, Prof. Dr. Eva Neidhardt and Dr. Rotraut Walden on an excursion as part of an architectural psychology seminar in SS 2022 led by habilitated lecturer Walden from the University in Koblenz. On the contrary, the very first impression on seeing the Isala Clinics in Zwolle in the Netherlands is unusual: colors in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet greet the guests. The shapes are also unusual, a façade shielding noise makes one curious. This is organic architecture at its best. As a multi-faceted branch of architecture, it builds on holistic, dynamic and creative impulses from nature. Organic architecture is expressed primarily through a variety of forms and materials (Mazurova, 2014).
