All about StArfrica – Startup Germany-Africa – 28.10.2020

The mission of StArfrica – Startup Germany-Africa – is to increase the attractiveness of Germany for African start-ups as well as to sensitize and facilitate the market entry of German start-ups and companies in Africa.

Our project will be implemented on a pilot basis in Rwanda and in cooperation with the University of Rwanda in Kigali. Our team is based at the Institute for Scientific Entrepreneurship at the University of Koblenz as well as on-site at the UR in Kigali.

The objective of this bridgehead in Rwanda is to promote business start-ups from the field of science together with the University of Rwanda and especially to sensitize, motivate, advise and support for the possibility of founding a business in Germany – if necessary we can also help with an application for the EXIST-founders-scholarship.

In addition, we are also planning to implement an incubator on the ground in Kigali that will support and push business ideas by young Rwandans in the field of science (more information coming soon!).

Rwanda has so much potential, it’s really impressive. Thus, we are often frustrated to see that the image of Rwanda as well as the African continent in general is still outdated and full of stereotypes. This is exactly what we want to tackle.

Soon, we are having our first online talk on the work we do. Our goal is to provide more information on StArfrica to all interested young founders as well as those who wanna hear more about our ideas and plans.
